Affordable Baby Cribs
by Randi ReeseA baby crib is the first big purchase you will make for your little one. There are many choices available but buying a crib does not need to break the bank. There are many baby items you will need to get so don’t stress on the cost of a new baby crib. There are many affordable baby cribs on the market today. Here are some tips for finding the best affordable baby crib.
Safety First - Always make sure that the crib complies with all the latest safety standards. Check the slats to be sure that they are no further than 2+3/8 inches apart.
Don’t worry about extra features. Most cribs, even those that are inexpensive, usually have a railing that lowers. This provides ease of access to the child. Make sure that the railing is sturdy and does not easily push down.
Check for special sales. Often times cribs are offered at a discount sale price. During special sales prices are temporarily lowered and you may find you can now afford a more expensive model.
Look for simple lines. The most affordable cribs are those that offer the simplest designs. Slats on both sides with solid head and foot ends are the most common designs.
Assembly and delivery charges can be avoided if you put the crib together yourself. Be sure to follow directions properly to avoid safety problems. Test the crib thoroughly before use.
Sturdiness is important for any crib. While the more affordable baby cribs may be made of less expensive materials they should still be of sturdy construction. Make sure that the crib doesn’t wobble and that the hardware tightens properly.
